Before Your Postpartum Massage: Simple Checklist
Gentle prep tips to help your postpartum body (and mind) get the most from every nurturing minute on the table.

Your body is doing heroic work—healing, feeding, carrying, loving. Postpartum massage wraps all that effort in comfort and calm. Here’s how to set yourself up beautifully for your session.
Before You Arrive
- Green-light check: If you’ve had a C-section or complications, wait for your provider’s go-ahead. Incisions should be closed and healing well.
- Plan your window: Choose a time that works around feeds/pumping so you’re not rushing.
- Hydrate + snack: Keep water nearby and have a light bite before your appointment.
- Pack the little things: Nursing pads, a cozy wrap, and any preferred support pillow.
At the Spa
- Speak up: Tell us about tender areas (neck/shoulders from feeding, lower back, hips) and comfortable positions.
- Gentle first: We’ll start softly and listen to your body every step of the way.
- Bathroom break: Empty your bladder before the session for deeper relaxation.
Extra Comfort
- Bring baby—or not: Totally your call. If you’re solo, consider arranging childcare so you can fully switch off.
- Unplug: Phone on silent. This hour belongs to you.
Note: If you notice fever, heavy bleeding, calf pain, or unusual symptoms, contact your provider before receiving bodywork.
